5 Days to an Easier Period: Day 4
No one likes surprises. So why be surprised by your period? If you’re prepared, you don’t have to be. And the good news is that since you are now tracking, being prepared is easier. But even if your period is currently all over the place, you can still follow these simple steps to be prepared even for a surprise.
Today, I am sharing with you the steps I take to make sure I am prepared for my period:
Gather your period supplies.
From the moment our first period caught us off guard, we’ve been haunted by the fear of blood running down our legs or soaking through our clothes. Here’s the trick – keep your supplies on you! I place my menstrual cup in my bag a few days before my period is supposed to begin. Always having a stash of your supplies, whether they be tampons, pads, menstrual cups, or period underwear, can help you feel less nervous.
Eat Your Chica!
The last thing you want is to have your Chica and forget to eat it! Set a reminder on your period tracking app or calendar to let you know when you are eight days away from starting your period (close is fine). Don’t let yourself have another period without Chica! So important.

Accept that your period is coming.
Ok, I admit, this sounds really weird. But, think about it, how much more difficult does your period feel when you are dreading it? Your period is going to happen! Accept it, release the shame and frustration around it… maybe even embrace it as the good thing that it is, and this will help your experience feel easier. You have enough to worry about – don’t let shame and frustration of your period weigh you down.
