With the arrival of our new offering, Chica Chill, we will be using the terms, Yin and Yang more and we want to provide a little bit of an introduction of what those words means.
Our favorite aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is its focus on supporting harmony in your body and mind.
The Taoist philosophy of Yin and Yang is foundational for understanding and treating health issues in TCM, as TCM views every part of you in its relation to your whole. Yin and Yang represent the flow of opposites that informs TCM’s ultimate goal to support balance.
For example, Chica Chill helps nourish Yin. Yin represents inwardness, rest, and cold. When Yin is deficient, Yang has room to dominate. Dominant Yang can show up as aggression, agitation, and over heating. Therefore, by nourishing the Yin and increasing it, the dominant Yang must decrease and return to a healthy balance with Yin. Balanced Yang shows up as excitement, activity, and heat.
What is Yin-Yang theory?
▪️Yin is completion, while Yang is beginning.
▫️Yin and Yang exist in relation to each other.
▪️All Yin and Yang parts can be further divided into Yin and Yang.
▫️Yin and Yang balance each other. The flip side of this is that excessive Yang depletes your Yin, etc.
▪️Yin and Yang are always transforming into each other.
Where in yourself do you notice Yin qualities, and Yang qualities? Are they in balance?
